Hi Grace,
It is VERY competitive in Arkansas, you're right. I just got
a job in a central Arkansas public school after two years of
trying to do so. It might be best to go to a smaller
district first, get to know lots of people and then try to
get in to a bigger one. Little Rock has a TON of openings
right before school starts if you live in central Arkansas.
North Little Rock is very friendly and Pulaski County was
harder to get in. NWA is a lot harder due to the U of A
turning out about 40 Masters graduates a year. (I was one of
them).
