Yes, subbing definitely helps. Most districts are receiving tons of
applications for each position. Talking to and making friends with the
principals, department chairs, and even the office managers (who practically
run the school;-))IS the way to go.

Sometimes part-time jobs come up at the last minute(or even mid-year), so
don't give up!
