Colorado State University – Pueblo hosts Teacher Education Fair
    on April 12

Pueblo- Colorado State University-Pueblo will host its annual
    Teacher Education Fair on Thursday, April 12, from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.,
in the Occhiato University Student Center. Nearly 45 local,
regional, state, and national school districts are expected to
    participate.

According to Career Center Director Michelle B. Gjerde, “Candidates
must be teacher qualified to participate. Candidates seeking full-
time teaching positions should be professionally dressed and bring
plenty of copies of their updated resumes, and be prepared to
    interview.”

The Education Fair format schedule is as follows: Open Networking
and Sign-Ups for interviews with school districts will occur from 9 –
    9:45 a.m. Interviews will take place from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., with
candidates having from one to 12 interviews depending on the
availability of recruiters and candidate geographic preferences.

The American Association for Employment in Education (AAEE) notes
that teaching fields with considerable shortage are mathematics,
    bilingual education, severe/profound disabilities,
emotional/behavior disorders, physics, and chemistry. Fields that
have some SURPLUS are health education, dance education, physical
education and social studies education. The fields most in demand at
this time are: foreign language, special education, math, science,
    ESL, music and English.
