I do not think eaching in Colorado is tougher than other places.
It is a matterr of being in the right place at the right time. I
had a hard time finding a science job in a rural school that I
wanted. As soon as I moved out of the area 2 jobs opened up,
twice!!
I moved out of Colorado 3 years ago and had to navigate becoming
certified in another state. I also subbed for a year. I asked for
long term positions and spent most of the year at 2 schools.
However I got great references and even though I found a job at a
different schhol, I was called this year by one of the pricipals
when a job opened up.
The point is reseach schools, certification requirements, housing,
decide on urban, suburban or rural and remenber anyone can deal
with one year at a job they dont like, you can make a change if
things dont work out.
