Ready for an adventure for the whole family?

Hosting an exchange student is a wonderful way for your whole family to give back together, while experiencing a new culture.

Exchange students are between the age of 15 and 18 and come from over 60 countries around the world. They come with their own spending money and health insurance, and have studied English for at least 3 years.

Most of all, they are eager to learn about your American family!

Host families come in all shapes and sizes!

As an Ayusa host family, a $50 per month tax deduction can be claimed for each month you host an international high school student.

Receiving Local Support from Ayusa:

From student selection and school registration to academic and supportive counseling for each exchange student and host family, our network of community representatives are there to assist you.

As an Ayusa host family you are assigned a local community representative (CR) who will support your family and student for the entire program. Your professionally trained CR will visit with you and your student monthly, offering advice and guidance whenever needed. The CR will also maintain regular contact with the local high school and complete a regular progress report, evaluating your student's progress in family life, academic achievement and social activity.

Your Community Representative is supported by a team of Regional and National Ayusa staff who are available to you and your student 24 hours in case of emergency.
