The Public Engagement Strategy Lab will provide you with the tools and resources you need to authentically engage stakeholders in thoughtful, democratic processes. Public Agenda trainers Matt Leighninger and Nicole Cabral will:
Provide an overview of the strengths and limitations of public engagement today; Help you assess the strengths and weaknesses of public engagement in your community; Explore potential benefits of more sustained forms of participation, Develop practical skills for planning for stronger engagement infrastructure; and Demonstrate a mix of small group and large group discussions, interactive exercises, case studies and practical application exercises.

We are looking for a select group of 3rd grade math teachers to be the first Teacher Advisor users. Your feedback will shape the tool as it expands to more grades and subjects.
Your Participation
The first group of pilot participants will start using Teacher Advisor in late August. Between August and November, they will be asked to:
Attend a 30-minute orientation to receive your login information Complete short 10-15 minute surveys Participate in 30-minute monthly interviews if randomly selected

If you cannot provide a letter of recommendation at this point, that is completely understandable, just do your best to complete as much of the application as you can. We know much of the staff at schools have gone on summer vacation.
The DC library needs help on two fronts. 1) Spreading the word about our youth literacy campaign, Sing Talk and Read (dclibrary.org/star) and 2) Signing families up for Books From Birth, an initiative that will send age- appropriate books to children in the district ages birth- 5.
