I am considering teaching in the DC area and was curious
about the dynamic and opinion of DC Public vs DC Charter
Schools from local teachers. Is the pay similar? What is
the relationship with the city and NCLB? Is the need much
higher in the public schools?

I taught in Baltimore City for 2 years (but have been out
of the classroom for a year and a half) so I do have
experience in a high need area, and recognize challenges
associated with urban areas.

I taught K and First and would like to do Prek/K if I go
back. Any word on class size/support for ECE? DC Public
schools haven't posted information for next year, but have
seen postings for DC Prep and Apple Tree Institute Charter
Schools. Any opinions on those schools would be helpful
too.
