DC Teaching Fellows provides comprehensive support to Fellows.
If accepted into our program, Fellows begin with pre-service
training where they are given the basic tools and skill
necessary to begin teaching in their own classrooms. The pre-
service training includes practice teaching under the
supervision of a DC Public Schools teacher and seminars and
professional development activities. During the school year,
Fellows receive ongoing support through certification
coursework, logistical and administrative resources from DC
Teaching Fellow staff and regular newsletters. The first year
of teaching is challenging and will also require Fellows to
problem solve creatively and independently as most high-need
schools have limited resources.
DC Teaching Fellows seeks outstanding mid-career professionals
and recent college graduates with a desire to make a difference
in the lives of DC Public Schools’ students who need them most.
We encourage you visit our website, www.DCTeachingFellows.org,
for more information and to apply. Please contact our office at
info@dcteachingfellows.org if you have additional questions.
Change happens here. Teach.
