I hope that more people reply to you, as I'm knew and only
just catching on here in DE.
Red Clay, Appoquinimink, and Caesar Rodney are all pretty good
schools. I don't think that there are many BAD schools in DE;
I would probably stay away from the Dover public schools
(especially the HS) because I've heard mostly negative
feedback about them. I'm sure you've already searched through
this board's archives, but if you didn't, there were some
posts back in February that you may wish to view.

Also, http://www.udel.edu/teachered/teachersalaries.htm gives
you a very general idea of how some of the schools here pay.
I know that it's outdated a tad because my school, which is on
that list, pays first year/B.S. about 2 K more than that site
lists. I suppose if you round up a bit for inflation, you can
still get a decent feel for how the districts salaries compare.
As far as the outlook for social studies teachers, I would
suggest that you glance at www.teachdelaware.com if you
haven't already. It only shows current listings, but if you
keep watching it, you may get a field for where some need is.
I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help.
Good luck!
