A Writers Conference for Non-Writers!

We are surprised not to have more Delaware teachers participating! Presented by Delmarva Discussions and supported by Kent County Tourism and the DE Division of Libraries, The Mid-Atlantic Writers Conference: A Writers Conference for Non-Writers is bringing non-writers together with established writers in a casual environment to help the beginners jump start their writing ambitions, whether for one specific project or to fulfill a dream. The deadline for registering will come up fast and this is one not to be missed! “I found some letters written to my mother from my father while he was away during World War II”, says one registrant. “I have always wanted to do something with them. They tell a wonderful love story as well as provide a look at the war in the Philippines, an area you don’t hear much about”. She will be getting the guidance she wants at the conference. Both of these would be writers will be at The Mid-Atlantic Writers Conference on October 2, 2010 from 8am to 5:30pm at the Sheraton Conference Center in Dover, Delaware. Unlike other writers’ conferences, each session is geared toward people like them - the non- or beginning writer. There are no “Master Classes”, intimidating titles or readings. Just the things they need to know to get motivated, get started, and get writing! Participants can choose sessions on fiction, non-fiction and memoir, or poetry. They will also have a chance to lunch with an author and get one-on-one advice with a manuscript/project idea review.

Presenters include songwriter/poet Crabmeat Thompson, Cambridge novelist Dianne Marquette, and memoirist Nancy Mitchell. All are published authors, professional writers, and educators who will show the basics on how to get started and find support. They As with any endeavor, there are tips, tricks, and resources. They’ll share these and make sure all participants leave with the confidence to work on their project!

The Mid-Atlantic Writers Conference will be held on October 2, 2010 from 8am to 5:30pm at the Sheraton Conference Center in Dover, Delaware. You must pre-register before September 18, 2010 to participate. More information and registration forms can be found at [link removed].
