I think it is a shame that our government doesn't value
education. If they did, furlough days wouldn't occur because
it directly impacts student's learning and the future of this
country. We're always compared to the education systems in
other countries...I bet those other countries value educators
and the education process. We're looking at the potential of
3 furlough days this year and the teachers where I am
employed have already given up over $500 in pay to help ease
the crunch. Now they are asking for more. The State of Maine
is a horrendous State to teach in at the moment. Shame on
Governor Baldacci for impacting children so negatively!!
