    Re: Teaching jobs impossible
    Posted by Matty41 on 9/27/08

I'm originally from Iowa, and before I moved away from there
(almost 20 yrs. now), there were no jobs then. Why is it so hard
to find a teaching job there? I'm originally from the Quad Cities
area, and I'm getting ready to graduate with my Master's in
Elementary Education, middle school endorsements in Social
Studies, Science, and Special Ed. My husband and I would like to
relocate there, but it doesn't seem possible. I currently live
in IL, so I'd have my Teaching License for that part of the QC,
but I just was wondering if anyone had any tips? Teachers retire
in my area all the time. Also, I was told that a lot of teachers
will be retiring soon = the baby boom generation. Any thoughts
or comments would be appreciated! Thanks.
