Hi Steve. I have been a paraprofessional here in IL for
several years. I'm not sure what a Type 09 certificate is,
but all I had to do was send my transcripts to the State
Board of Ed and I got my certification as a para. They
certified me as an IL and NCLB approved paraprofessional.
I will student teach later this month in special education,
and have noticed that being an assistant has truly helped me
in my course work.
Good luck to you! Happy 2012
