Hi! I am a first year teacher in Virginia who may be moving to Kansas in the near future. My husband might have a job transfer. I was wondering how the schools are in Kansas and how easy/hard it is to get a teaching job. I appreciate any advice...! Thanks!!

maybe moving I was afraid of that... It would be in Newton.

suzy Aaron, Has the KS retirement system changed for new hires? I retired in KS 4 years ago and I make as much from KPERS as I did when I taught full time. And now that I can add SS benefits, I'm actually making MORE than when I worked.

MM I read an article today that said 1/2 of all schools could close there by fall to stave off bankruptcy.
