Loan forgiveness programs can be found on the US dept. of
education website....but you have to dig through quite a bit
of old news releases. Takes a while. There are a lot or
restrictions, including when you first loans were disbursed.
I ended up not eligible because my FIRST loans were taken
out about 10 years previous. You have to be very new to
teaching and a college education in general, not just
certified but with previous education using loans. I can't
say that any of the programs are still in operation. They
come for a couple years, then disappear. Good luck, if it
works out for you.
