Re: Mrs. D----As a New Orleanian &teacher, I'm GLAD you're g
Posted by Mrs. D on 3/16/08

I never said I have not been to NO in 30 years. If you could READ, you would see that
I was there for six months to help family with clean-up. Where you there helping while
I was using a bucket as a toilet and sleeping in my car? And yes, military folks do
live in less than desirable areas. We do it so that YOU can live wherever you so
desire. We will continue to do so, because no matter how ugly you are to me, I still
know that you are one of God's children and He loves you. However, I would appreciate
it if you would use your voice (the one my husband and others like him protect) to
spread a positive message. I never said NO was horrid. For goodness sake, I was very
clear about NO being home to many generations of my wonderful family.

I apologize if I offended you when I praised your humanitarian efforts. I was under
the impression that you were one of the noble people putting others ahead of
themselves, but I was obviously wrong. The anger that you are harboring inside DOES
NOT have anything to do with me telling a young person to find a safer place to live.
It is also not productive. You are clearly in pain and are need to seek spiritual
guidance. The Lord will wash your pain and confusion away if you would just trust that
He allowed you to survive a catastrophe like Katrina for a reason. I want you to know
that I forgive your harsh words, for I UNDERSTAND what it feels like to know naught of
what has happened to your past.

And, no I am not gone. I choose to keep my children in a healthier environment. That
does not mean that I will not return to help family that continues to refuse to leave
the area (although most have). One by one that are becoming very ill from their harsh
living conditions and need assistance more everyday.
