From the standpoint of a teacher, that is not relevant. It is
beyond my immediate concern, which is the safety and education of
my students. I want violent and disruptive students removed from
my classroom. The other students deserve it. Don't you think so? Now beyond that, if they are so violent or disruptive that they
cannot even be placed in an alternative school, then they need to
be placed in the custody of the state in some form, either into
the juvenile justice system or social services system. There are some students, particulary at the high school level, who
simply should not be allowed back into any public school setting. As for that story, it may have scrolled off the main pages into
the archives. You can research it yourself or look for House
Bills regarding school discipline at the Louisiana Legislature web
