Re: I would like to chat with St. Tammany Parish teacher
Posted by st. tammany teacher on 6/10/08

They do call from the pool if necessary. I know when we lost a
special ed pre-k teacher in the middle of the year, my principal
called Mr. Jabbia's office to see if anyone qualified was on
file. Have you signed up to substitute? It is often a great
way to get your foot in the door. I know at our school a
teacher will be taking a 6-8 week maternity leave so they will
be looking for a certified teacher for the long term sub
position. Principals are now on summer break so it is hit or
miss if they will be at school. I guess it depends on each
principal's style. Principal's will be back two weeks before
the start of school. I would visit the schools you want to work
at to let principals know that you are available to sub or to
keep you in mind if they have an opening.
