Do you have your Louisiana paperwork done?
Continuing to teach in Mississippi isn't going to help you get
hired in St. Tammany if you don't have Louisiana certification.
Legally, the district must hire anyone "qualified" on paper before
they look elsewhere.
If I were you, I'd resign the Mississippi position as soon as
feasible, and find ANY Louisiana position in a nearby rural
parish. Look for one that won't be such a long commute, and
hopefully is in the direction of a university if you need to pick
up any courses to get your Louisiana credentials straight.
Once you have your Louisiana cred, you will find it easier to get
into St. Tammany. Good luck! It's a great system.
