I know you are looking for first-hand experience, but I'm
going to share my limited experience with you! I hope you
don't mind!! I am an Alt. Cert. student at SLU in Hammond.
I was able to observe at J. B. Martin and Destrehan. I LOVED
it! The atmosphere is sooo warm and inviting! I didn't
spend much time at Destrehan, but I observed 4 teachers at J.
B. and each of them loved working in St. Charles Parish.
They commented on the support they have within their school
and district. I hope to work there or St. Tammany soon!
