Do you know where in Louisiana?

Louisiana got on board with National Board a little late, but
in a big way. The certification will definitely get you in
many doors, but in ESL you won't have trouble finding a job
anyway.

The state adds $5000 to your salary for the 10 years of the
certificate. Some local school boards add more. Baton Rouge
(East Baton Rouge Parish), for example, matches the state
supplement, so you would make $10,000 more than the salary
schedule indicates for your degrees and experience.

This supplement only applies to public schools. The local
systems have some charters, but don't go near a state charter
with a 10-foot pole!
