I just received an invitation to interview for Math 6-12, but no
interview slots are available. It has me a little nervous. I
don't want to purchase the graphing calculator for the Praxis,
much less pay for three copies of transcripts, if I might not
even interview. The TeachNola site says not to email them about
it but just keep checking back in case people cancel. It
doesn't impress me. They shouldn't extend invitations if they
don't have slots available to interview.
There are a lot of expenses associated with this program.
Transcripts, Praxis tests, travel costs, certification costs,
housing during Institute. Plus, I will be in New Orleans for
several months without a paycheck (I think September would be
the first paycheck?) so I'll need to have enough of an emergency
fund to see me through several months of living expenses. All
this and no guarantee they will get me a job or I won't get
fired in a couple of years.
Anyone else getting a sense of misgiving?
