I've been invited to interview for a alternative certification teaching job with the Louisiana Recovery District in Shreveport. This is the website I applied through: [link removed]

I can't seem to find many testimonials about this program online. Can anyone tell me what it's like to live and teach in Shreveport? Does anyone have experience with Louisiana Teaching Fellows in particular? How many interviewees get hired? I'm going to have to travel a long way for this interview, so it'd be nice to know what odds I have of passing it, assuming I do everything right on my end.
LTF Dave congrats on your interview with LTF. I'm the site manager for LTF in Shreveport. I'm happy to connect you with a current fellow, who can tell you their experiences with LTF and with teaching in Shreveport. Please email or call our office and we'll be sure to connect you. [email removed].

Laurel Dave, I've just become aware of LTF approximately four months ago and was excited to learn of, what appeated to be, limitless opportunities in education. Dave as site manager for LTF in Shreveport can you tell me why on 9/30/2010 the program in Lousiana closed.

LTF Site Manager Hi Laurel- Thanks for your interest in LTF. Unfortunately, Unfortunately, in these tough economic times, LTF’s partner was unable to secure the needed funding to continue our work. This was a difficult decision for all stakeholders and is by no means a reflection on the quality of the program or the hard work of Fellows in their classrooms.
