Hi! When I left the horrible charter school, it was in October
3 years ago. 5 teachers left from that school to come to
Jefferson Parish in the same week!! I just kept looking on
their website every day, and I sent them my resume, and a CD of
myself teaching 2 classes, as well. Really...I hounded them
until they hired me! I have one friend who got a Pre-K job in
the parish, and she loves it just as much as I love high
school. I did take a bit of a pay cut, but, believe me, I would
have taken thousands less to not have to work in charter school
hell. My charter was run by UNO, too, so I thought it would be
great. Best of luck, and I hope you keep checking the JPPSS
website, as well as TeachLouisiana. Oh, and a friend of mine
found a great private school position on New Orleans
Craigslist, of all places!!
