You can get your preliminary license by having a degree and
passing the MTELs (Communication & Literacy - everyone must
take this one, and your subject test). That license will be
good for 5 years. To advance to the next level, you'd need to
go through an acceptable teaching program and do student
teaching, go through a district's training program, or do Class
Measures if there's no program in the district.
It's very easy to become a teacher, but difficult to stay a
teacher!
Getting hired is another thing alltogether! Jobs are slim
these days.
