Re: 7th grade vs 8th grade science in MD

go to the md state website nad find the voluntary state
curriculum for each grade
we are mostly aligned the vsc and our 7th grade is mostly
life science with cell function and process, heredity and
natural selection, the human body, the food chain and flow of
energy, and microorganisms. We finish with motion, force,
friction and gravity and newtons laws as well as energy. The
physical science is actually 8th grade vsc but it is after
MSA so we are doing in preparation for the next year;s msa.
7th also also has some beginning chem but we do that in 8th
with the rest of the chem stuff.
8th is waves, sound and light, astronomy, climate and weather
a whole lot of chem, heat, temp and energy
Right now science msa is only in 8th grade. IF the move to
both 7th and 8th grade, we have a few things to move around
but not much.
