I now work at a non-profit in New York, DonorsChoose.org. DonorsChoose.org is dedicated to addressing the scarcity and inequitable distribution of learning materials and experiences in our public schools. Founded in 2000 by Charles Best, a social studies teacher in the Bronx, DonorsChoose.org has steadily grown--and has just opened to serve EVERY public school in the United States! We recently received a generous grant to help fund our expansion into the state of Maine, and I'm helping in the effort to reach as many teachers in Maine that I can! So please, help us spread the word: Now, ANY public school teacher in Maine - from Fort Kent to Kittery - can request valuable resources for their classrooms.
