Posted by georgiabadger on 8/17/08 That's funny, I heard everyone in Minnesota talks like the people in the movie Fargo!!! I don't mean to be facetious, but it is not 1957 anymore. You be the judge by what you see when you come down. I encountered MUCH more racism living in Wisconsin/Minnesota than I ever have here. I would suggest you stop judging an area by "what you hear" and see for yourself. It was the people(black/white/hispanic/korean/romanian/russian/african/etc who lived here that convinced us to move. Their kindness and sensitivity just amazed our whole family. As to being a bi-racial couple, it is a big deal if you want it to be, otherwise the only people who will notice will be you. Everything else you have read about teaching here in Gwinnett County can be checked on the web. Jobs are posted on the district website. Pay is very good, housing is gorgeous and very inexpensive, and the people are fantastic. Let me know if I can answer any other questions.
