The insurance we teachers have is really sh---! Somewhere I think
there is some insurance official living nicely, laughing all the
way to the bank with the money he makes off this plan we have here
in MS. I too am a single mom who doesn't go to the dr because of
the high deductible. Thank the Lord my children are healthy. I
have a friend who teaches at Millcreek, the school for emotionally
disturbed children. The insurance she has there is a dream. She
pays no more for family coverage than I do. She pays $25 a dr.'s
visit. There's also visual and dental on it. Her husband recently
had to have new glasses - $25 for the eye exam, $95 for new
glasses - the insurance picked up the rest. Why can't we have a
plan like that? I sometimes think I'd rather have a good
insurance plan than a big raise.
