Hello, I just recently got a job in Montana. I will be the only science teacher for grades 7-12 and have been looking over the Montana Science Standards and have a few questions.

First, while looking at the 9-12 standards, ELE for the end of grade 10 are listed. It appears as though they want us to cover information for Biology, Chemistry, and Earth Science by the end of 10th grade. What do you do to cover all of this material in just 9th and 10th grades?

The previous teacher didn't leave any information about what he covered and I am not sure what the order of the classes were that he taught. What is the general order of courses beginning with 7th grade? (Does it go: 7-Physical Science, 8-Life Science, 9-Earth Science, 10-Biology, 11-Chemistry, 12-Physics ...or is my order mixed up?)

I would appreciate any ideas / advice you have about teaching all of those classes as a first-year teacher. Feel free to e-mail me at [email removed]
