Phone Bank Opens As The Battle to Restore Gore To The White
House Continues.
For Immediate Release

Although Al Gore endorsed Howard Dean last month for
President, a group of loyal Gore supporters are working
nationwide to convince the former vice president that the
wrongs of 2000 can never be corrected unless Mr. Gore takes
office and justice is returned to the American political
system.

Patriots for Gore and Draft Gore New England have combined
forces to set up a phone bank in NH to contact 65,000 likely
Democratic voters and urge them to write in Gore's name for
president. In addition, Patriots for Gore will be running ads
in the local newspapers and on radio stations beginning
January 16 in order to secure the needed number of votes to
make the 15% threshold. “ We will run a four-week blitz of
phone calls, letter writing, mass mailings and grass-roots
organizing like never before” says Jan Moore, chair of the
newly formed Patriots for Gore.

To aid in this effort a local phone number and an email
address have been set up to supply voters with additional
information. Voters in NH can call:603-430-VOTE(8683) or
email us as at WriteInAlGore04@aol.com.

In addition to NH, the group will be contacting other states
where the Secretary of State can add Mr. Gore's name to the
ballot at their request. These states include MA, CA, and CT.
There are also write-in campaigns taking hold in NJ, TN
(uncommitted slot), VT, WI and RI.

This effort is intended to make sure that Al Gore has a
proper delegation at the Democratic Convention this year. We
feel that a deadlocked convention is a strong possibility. By
having a Gore delegation present, it will be much more likely
that the convention will turn to Mr. Gore as a consensus
candidate, as multiple national and regional polls have shown
him to be over the last 8 months.

Mac Hathaway, New England regional coordinator of the Draft
Gore Movement, states that "Symbolism is what gets people to
the polls, and Democratic grass-roots activists kicking and
screaming their way into the convention, on behalf of Al
Gore, freedom, and all that is right in America, that
symbolism will not be lost. We believe that Gore is the
natural, logical, and morally "correct" candidate, and we
will not rest until Mr. Gore has the Democratic Nomination,
and justice is returned to the American political system"

Patriots for Gore is a newly formed PAC, a fully FEC
registered and reporting campaign organization, headed by Jan
Moore. According to Moore, Patriots for Gore was established
shortly after the Dean endorsement to give Gore supporters
across the nation a place to come together and continue to
support Mr. Gore's vision for America. Moore said, “We
respect Mr. Gore's decision to endorse Howard Dean, and
indeed, we respect and admire all of the announced
candidates. This, however, does nothing to diminish our
resolve in working for the only man we believe can truly turn
the tide as this nation's next President. We refuse to deal
any longer with a status quo that enslaves the soul and
stifles the voice.”

The group remains encouraged that while Gore has not embraced
their efforts, he has not discouraged them either. In a
statement issued Dec. 13, 2003, he says: "I want to take this
opportunity to offer my heartfelt thanks for your continued
loyalty and friendship, especially during this last year
since I decided not to be a candidate. Though unsolicited,
your actions have been an immeasurable source of support. It
is difficult to express in words the deep gratitude that
Tipper and I feel for all your efforts on our behalf."
