I agree-- given Rio Rancho being near Albuquerque, you should be able
to get a job in one of the two cities. Together they must have
something like 150 elementary schools and 20-something high schools.
There are many charter schools ranging from scary (in terms of work
load, administration and financial stability) to wonderful-- do your
research to make sure they are fiscally sound before you accept a job
at one, but I wouldn't rule them out altogether.
The commute into Albuquerque is bad (congested, lots of people leaving
RR in the morning and returning in the evening), but perhaps it won't
be bad by New York standards! Fortunately the fastest growing schools
are the easiest ones to commute to from Rio Rancho.
