APS is te only school district in Albuquerque and they are the largest district in the state but they pay the lowest. A level I teacher starts at 30k a year.

Lori Cost of living in the Albuquerque or Santa Fe area is not cheap. Yes, houses cost less than in California, but on a teacher's salary... I can't even qualify for a "low income" new house. Lori Forgot to mention..we just got a 1.5% pay cut. They mismanaged/bankrupted our retirement fund and have to build it back up.

Albuquerque is all one district. Rio Rancho is next door but I'm not sure what their rates are. I just moved out of there to CA, where teachers make a crazy amount, but cost of living is equally or more crazy (not that there is even one single job for the...See More
