I am considering leaving a graduate program in Sociology up
here in Iowa. Two years ago I considered applying for the
Jemez Mtn T2T program but decided to stay in grad school. I
know that I will have to teach on an intern license while I
pursue the OPAL route to certification. I have an MA in
Sociology and a year of coursework beyond. For various
reasons I considered looking for jobs at rez high schools
and plan to do the same next year if I decide to make the
change. My question is if the job market for rez and rural
high schools has tightened up with the economy or if those
positions remain hard to fill? Difficult to project what
will happen next year, but any input would be greatly
appreciated.
