Surplus

Is there a rule in place to stop teachers who were surplussed last year from having the same fate this year? My wife is probably going to get it again and I was just wondering. She has received very high marks on her reviews from her Principals for 2 years and is a very good teacher, winning awards from other states when she taught in them and has now been in 3 different classrooms in 2 years. She was hired as a 4th grade Science teacher, so we bought a ton of stuff and 2 weeks before school started got moved to 3rd grade. Then was surplussed a month in and took a job with split grades(K and 4th advanced reading) for the rest of the year. They loved her so much they got rid of a K teacher to keep her there and now she is more than likely on the surplus list again as her class has 11 a.m. students and 9 afternoon. She is the teacher that stays 2-3 hours after school to help kids with work and do the extra to make it worth it, but is now losing interest and is going to leave right at the...See More
