I'm going to have to agree - it's probably your subject area. If you were
certified in Math, Science, or Special Ed - then you'd have no prob finding
a position anywhere. I am alternatively certified in Business (positions
are even more scarce), but even I had 4 interviews over the summer. I
landed a job last minute. Now - I might have been lucky, however, during the
searching process I emailed principal after principal, attached my resume
and cover letters - all of this in addition to applying directly on the
website. During my interviews, none of the principals cared that I was
alternatively certified. They did want to know why I chose to leave
business and come to the world of education, and I happily told them. But I
believe that any principal wants the same thing - someone that will work
tirelessly trying to win over students and make a difference. Be aggressive
and keep looking! Good luck!
