Does anyone have experience trying to move from 1 district to another mid-year? I have an offer to work close to home that offers MUCH improved working conditions. I am a related arts teacher who travels between 2 schools right now. I have a room only at one of the schools and am on a cart at the other. I travel 200 miles round trip each week to work. The new job offer is 5 ninutes from home in one school with my own room. My current district won't release me. 6 weeks ago I submitted a resignation and they interviewed (so I'm told). I was told last week they're done looking and I will not be released.

has this happened to anyone else? Is it worth speaking to a lawyer? Am I stuck this year? Will SC pull my license if I quit?

Thanks. frustrated in the low country
