What is happening in your schools? Yesterday, we got a strongly worded email that advised us to be at our duty posts on time or to contact a colleague to cover for us. This is unpaid duty that is either 35 minutes before school, during one's lunch, or after school. Unpaid duty.

This year, we also have been told that we will have limited subs. So, if we exceed our sick days (something like 4 sick days) we will have to give up our planning to cover for each other. Nothing better to build strong relationships--all those teachers with sick kids are going to be in trouble.

This is in addition to the normal, horrid stuff. I think I will be heading to a union state soon.
happy to be employed I've been in 5 districts throughout the state of SC in my 15 years of teaching. I have always had bus and lunch duties.
