I grew up and work in East Tennessee and it is a wonderful
place to be. I would recommend somewhere around the
Chattanooga or Knoxville area. Many of the smaller counties
in the area have fairly good salaries, students, and schools.
I work in a small county and while we are a Title I school we
have few discipline problems, great students, and a fairly
large budget to work with. East Tennessee is beautiful with
lots of outdoor beauty and activities (hiking, camping,
Smokey Mtns, Ocoee River, etc) as well as other diverse fun
stuff (Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge, TN Aquarium, Rock City, Ruby
Falls, shopping, restaurants, etc). I love it here-but I
would just do your research and see what area of TN best fits
your interests and lifestyle!
