I can't believe this! Growing up in Memphis, I was paddled in fifth grade
with my cousin (two girls). I live in CT now. People are shocked when I tell
them this story. (YOu would think we tried to burn down the building! It was
very innocent, our misdeed, I assure you!!! I am not that old btw, just
turned 40 this year, so we are not talking that long ago.
Reenacting CP in TN will certainly lead the way backward. I would go
ballistic if another adult touched my child.
Then again, the south will always do things its own way. I myself still am
scarred from that brutal event.
And TX leads the nation in capital punishment, so I am not surprised they
still enact CP!!! Sad though. I have worked in many schools that do not hit
kids where discipline is not an issue, btw!
