Re: Getting a teaching job in Loudoun
    Posted by jim on 9/13/08

TCH. Have you filled out an online application? That is where I
started. After that was done, I emailed all the principals at all
the potential schools I could and then just waited. Loudoun runs
their schools like a business. It is a good thing in many
instances. They can move you anywhere they want to at anytime
they want to. It is a "right to work" state. So although there is
an "association" you can join, there is only so much they can do
for you. Then there is the "December list". If things are not
working out, you will be placed on the list and your contract will
not be renewed. But that is not a worry unless you are working
here and unless you do not perform your job well. With that said,
I love it there!!! I do not live in Loudoun County so I commute
there each day. It is a very expensive place to reside with very
high taxes. The kids are AWESOME!!! The parents care about
education. Keep trying. Loudoun is very particular in who they
hire and as was mentioned previously, schools are always being
    built.
