I have been looking for full-time work around So Cal for
almost two years. With the economy, teacher layoffs, and
declining enrollment, it's hard to find anything in CA. I
have found work as a sub, but I would like full time work.
I have a ton of years experience as a sub in all grade
levels K-8 (including special ed). I subbed when I was
completing my preliminary credential. I have passed all
the required tests, including the CBEST. According to CA,
I am highly qualified. I am thinking now about going out
of state. I have relatives that live in King County, so, I
thought I'd test the waters there. King County is OK, but
anywhere in western WA is OK, too.
I will have my Professional Clear Credential by the end of
the year. I am authorized to teach ELL (In fact I have
been in Newcomers classrooms on several occasions). I am
trained in the Read 180 reading intervention program.
I have had several long-term assignments (including one in
Read 180) where I prepared all lessons and completed
assessments. I received glowing reports from the
principals.
Please share any suggestions, leads, ideas, comments, etc.
Thanks
