The job situation in Madison is bleak, $10,000,000 is being
cut from the budegt. HR is using a new tool called the
InSight test not the preciever before it is even possible to
get an interview, no matter if you have experince or not. And
yes there are content tests being used, and yes you have to
have the correct license for what area you are going to
teach, if you have education for a secondary area. It is
requried that the teacher has a certification with DPI in
that area. By 2005 all teachers who want to renew thier
license will need an electronic portfolio, so that the
Department of Public insturction can reevaluate you as a
teacher. If you fail the InSight test which isn't scored it
is interpreted, you must sit out the application process with
the MMSD for two years.
