Hi, my husband and I raised our family in Laramie and
Cheyenne Wyoming and taught in Cheyenne for several years.
Wyoming can be a wonderful place to live and work, but much
depends on where in particular you are looking to be. The
larger cities--Gillette, Casper, Cheyenne, pay more but have
more applicants. Some of the smaller communities are pretty
isolated, but may help with relocation expenses--Green
River, Kemmerer come to mind.
If you are a couple, finding two suitable jobs can be a
challenge, since communities are so spread out, if you find
a position in another town you may be looking at an hours
drive each way, over roads that can be very nasty in
winter.
As far as job postings go, I believe the Univerity of
Wyoming has a site, as well as many of the individual
districts.
My husband and I are currently living in hawaii, will
probably be looking to relocate back to the mainland this
spring. May consider coming back to Wyoming or Colorado,
though our daughters like the Southeast, so we may consider
there or the Northeast.
Perhaps we could be more helpful if we knew where you were
thinking of applying/living in Wyoming, and what your
teaching fields are. You might also consider Colorado--very
similar in a lot of respects, although the respective
citizens of both states can be loath to admit it :)
