When I taught for DoDDS in Japan, I worked with a teacher who taught for several years there. Yes, it can happen although the transfer round always requires some luck. People in Misawa (and other in Japan) do have the advantage that they can also have the opportunity to transfer within district (after the general transfer round and before CONUS hiring) by agreeing to pay for the move yourself (provided that there is an opening that matches ...See More
