I don't have the answer to your question but am only piping in because I think that this is fundamentally wrong. For a potential employer to expose you and create a vulnerability such as this can be uncomfortable to say the least. I'm sorry for your situation. There are no hard and fast rules that I am aware of for references. Generally you would think that a second interview and asking for ANOTHER reference would be a very good sign (providing that the references check out of course). Yes, thanks so much for the support. The coin flip was not in my favor. I agree haha in that a simple email would have been nice at the very least. At this time, I still haven't received one bit of correspondence that I was not selected for the position. Seems very unprofessional and careless on their part.
