Should AI Literacy Become Part of Teacher Professional Devel

AI is becoming part of everyday life in education, but I wonder whether AI literacy should now be treated as an important part of teacher professional development.

Many teachers are already experimenting with AI for lesson planning, creating classroom activities, generating ideas, preparing assessments, summarizing information, and adapting content for different learning needs. At the same time, there are still concerns about accuracy, student dependence, privacy, plagiarism, and knowing when AI-generated information should not be trusted.

What I find interesting is that teachers probably do not need to become AI developers to use these technologies effectively. However, they may need to understand how AI works at a practical level, how to write better prompts, how to check AI-generated information, and how to use AI without losing the human side of teaching.
