Songs are a great way to get any child active and thinking.
All of my me ELL students are always actively engaged.
Pictures, real items, any tactile examples.
Also, make an effort to learn something about India and
relate it....snacks might be a great way to bridge a gap.
You didn't mention how much he does know. Be careful about
going too far back.
