As a new teacher, how do you ensure your classroom accommodates all students? What are some tips for maintaining a safe and nurturing space for all students?
amdHi Brittany, try to take into account their primary needs, for example if there are students in wheelchairs try to give them the space they need to move and procure resources in the classroom independently. Not too high lights and low sounds to create a cozy atmosphere.

What are the biggest struggles/problems that you are currently facing which are limiting the effectiveness of student progress and learning? What are big barriers that you have come across in adapting special education to the online format? What are unsolved difficulties that you face with your student/child on a day-to-day basis during COVID-19?
Feel free to be as in specific as possible, all comments will be very useful to our research, and will hopefully lead to us developing an effective solution to hopefully help in this area.
I will be getting a student next year who has a trach. Does anyone have experience this? I'm curious as to how your district handled everything involved (nursing services, schedules, etc.). Any help would be truly appreciated by our IEP team.
AspieteacherJason, I had a special education student who had a trachea tube in her neck. An LVN should be provided if your student requires assistance from adults. My district provides individual LVN's for all students with severe disabilities and medical needs.
