Does anyone have any good information on standards- based report cards and grading (I know there are thousands of resources out there!) Our school is beginning the discussion of making that transition, and I am looking for something that is "fair" for the special education students. The typical standards-based rubric is 0-4 or 1-4, and I have a hard time accepting this change if it means that our IEP and ELL kiddos who work exceptionally hard and are making progress will score only 0's or 1's on this new report card. Kathy I don't have any resources, but have used standards based report cards for several years with my students who have moderate to severe disabilities. Our report card uses the 1-4 system, but there are symbols that we use with them. All of my students got a 2+ (making progress with modifications and accommodations). It was a bunch of busy work.
